NOLA Driving Institute offers Road Skills Tests at our Metairie and LaPlace locations.

Testing is completed in one of our NOLA Driving Institute vehicles, so you do not need to provide a vehicle for your test.

ROAD SKILLS TEST — $100 TOTAL

$40 — Road Skills Test
$60 — Use of NOLA Driving Institute Vehicle

$40 non-refundable deposit is paid online when you schedule your appointment.

$60 CASH is due when you arrive for your test.

⚠️ BEFORE YOU SCHEDULE

Please make sure you meet the requirements before booking your appointment.

IF YOU HAVE A LEARNER’S PERMIT

If you are 16 years old, you must have held your Louisiana Learner’s Permit for at least 180 days before taking the Road Skills Test.

If you already upgraded from a Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP) to a Learner’s Permit, you do not need to bring your sealed driver’s education envelope.

IF YOU HAVE A TEMPORARY INSTRUCTION PERMIT (TIP)

If you are eligible to take the Road Skills Test directly from a TIP, bring:

• Your valid Temporary Instruction Permit
• Your sealed driver’s education envelope
• Your Certificate of Completion

You must have the proper documentation to take the test.

PARENT/GUARDIAN REQUIREMENT

If you are 17 years old or younger, a parent or legal guardian must accompany you to your Road Skills Test.

⏰ TEST DAY

ARRIVE EARLY

Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

Road Skills Tests generally take approximately 15–20 minutes.

YOUR VEHICLE IS PROVIDED

All Road Skills Tests are performed in a NOLA Driving Institute vehicle.

You do not need to bring your own vehicle.

AFTER YOUR TEST

Your examiner will review your results with you.

If you pass, you will receive the documentation needed to complete the licensing process.

One of the biggest advantages of testing with NOLA Driving Institute is convenience.

Our Metairie and LaPlace locations are in the same building as ABC Title.

After passing your Road Skills Test, you can take your documentation right down the hall to ABC Title to complete the process of obtaining your Louisiana Driver’s License.

ROAD SKILLS TESTS CANNOT BE RESCHEDULED.

Please make sure you are available for the date and time you select before booking.

Your $40 deposit is non-refundable.

If you cannot attend your scheduled appointment, you will need to schedule a new Road Skills Test and pay a new deposit.
